If you are on this page it means you are interested in growing your career in the Salesforce Ecosystem.
you must have been bogged down by a lot of advice by a lot of people who are currently working or currently learning about salesforce about the approach to learn salesforce i will keep this blog not exhaustive rather it will be more descriptive in nature. I will, however, let you know what salesforce is and why it is such a big deal in the CRM Technology space. Salesforce is a giant in the CRM Space mainly due to two reasons:-
1) It has worked on improving the user experience of the customers it caters to by leaps and bounds compared to other competition in the same space.
2) It has an amazing eye (as a company) for marketing their product and making its presence felt in some way or the Other.
Now, in terms of business salesforce is a tool which is used my it's customer to store, connect and sell to its end users. For example, pantaloons is a brand which may be using salesforce CRM to track its customer expenditure, manage the points acquired by its shoppers and rank them in term of points earned and thus provide logic as to which shopper can get how much discounts. Pantaloons may also use it's shopper contact information to inform them about new products or upcoming sales in the it's store etc.
Now in terms of technology salesforce does all the above by using it's proprietary tools it has built or acquired over time. Some of the famous tools are Workflows, Process Builder, Email Management etc(we will get into the details of it later.)
Right now we will just discuss with you the skeleton on which salesforce is built.
The Skeleton is called a Table.
So think of this like a table has rows and column so salesforce corresponding terminology is row is called record, column is called field and Table itself is called Object.
This being the core of salesforce as a technology and everything else revolves around this object and fields in salesforce. This we will take up in another post.
